There are several things that you can do to clean a couch. They all depend on whether you have a fabric couch or a leather sofa.
- First vacuum the couch or sofa thoroughly.
- Second, assuming the couch is a fabric and not leather the upholstery cleaning technician may or may not use a pre-spray solution to emulsify and dirt, grease, grime, or other contaminants.
- Third, it is best to have a professional carpet and upholstery cleaning company steam clean the couch. They will come in, use a very powerful vacuum and near boiling hot water with the upholstery cleaning equipment to get the dirt to release from the fibers.
- Fourth, is vacuumed until the majority of dirt and moisture is extracted from the couch leaving your with clean furniture.
- Fifth, the upholstery cleaner may apply a fabric water repellant and stain protection and let the fabric dry completely.
If you do have a Leather couch, there are leather cleaner that can be applied and wiped off to remove dirt and grease. Secondly there are leather conditioners and protectors that can be applied as well.
